Horizon: Zero Dawn’s New Trailer Shows Us Its Pre-Apocalypse World

Guerrilla Games’ upcoming open-world ARPG (and Witcher 3 homage) Horizon: Zero Dawn made an appearance at this years Tokyo Game Show, revealing a trailer that gave viewers a glimpse at Aloy’s world before it became the robot-infested jungle it is now.

Though the trailer is in Japanese, it should still whet the appetite of gamers who remain aboard the its hype train. Showing the lights of the pre-apocalypse cityscape quickly blink out and the abandoned roads being overtaken by vegetation, the video then shoots ahead to Alloy’s current reality; the primitive world she is forced to survive in.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is not only Guerrilla Games’ first attempt at an RPG, but their first new IP since creating Killzone 12 years ago. Due for release in the US on February 28th 2017 (Early March for those on the other side of the Atlantic), the game will be fully compatible with the recently announced Playstation 4 Pro, giving it 4K support and perhaps explaining why the game’s development was delayed.
