I just downgraded my PS3 today just so I can play an undub of this game.
The 60 bucks I spend on an E3 flasher could have gone to Atlus instead if they’d just included dual audio.

You’re that desperate to play a downgraded version of the game (lower resolution, possibly lower framerate and less effects) just for Japanese voices? When Persona as a franchise has had fantastic English voice acting across multiple entries? Fucking pathetic.

    1. I don’t have a PS4
    2. I don give a flying fuck how “fantastic” past dubs were. I want to hear the original voices.
    3. Atlus shill plz go

Now if you’ll excuse me i’m going to pirate some other Atlus undubs like Catherine and Lost Dimension to play on my freshly CFW’d PS3.

Did you forget how insufferable English Fuuka sounds and how English Chidori sound like a 65 year old lady that smokes 2 packs a day in Persona 3?

Once persona 5 comes out in the states, rpcs3 will be able to play a lot of non intinsive weeb games so I’ll suffer no performance drop. Rpcs3+undub=nice. That’s if the ps4 version doesn’t come with undub dlc or if the western actors atlus gets are actually good.

Inb4 futaba is voiced by ashley burch

I still find it weird how Atlus insists on having the characters use honorifics in their English dubs. It’s very jarring. They really need to work on getting Dual Audio for P5.

An E3 flasher, you say? I might have to look into that so I can play Tales of Vesperia as well as P5 undub if Atlus decides to shaft us again.

I followed this guys vids. He covers everything from taking the machine apart, downgrade/flashing it, replacing the thermal paste and putting it back together.
Do take care to grab the lastest version of PS3 Flash Tool (the version in his downgrade package is out of date and does not support OFW 4.80) and use the ReBug downgrader firmware instead of the Rogero one he talks about in his vid.

Oh, right, I have to take my PS3 apart now to mod it. I’ve always been hesitant on modding like that, but I might look into it.

I was hesitant at first too but it turned out be really really easy. The internals of the Slim are neat without allot of stray cables and shit like some consoles.

I don’t see any way to fuck up your console unless you are really rough or by ESD. The latter can be prevented the cheap way by discharging yourself by grabbing something metal like your home’s heating radiator or something before handling the internals.

Just take it slow and make sure you have all the tools before you start.
If you are really too scared you blow up your PS3 you can always pay someone else to flash your console for you but that brings its own set of risks.
