New Persona 5 Gameplay Shows Public Bath Antics

Atlus has shared a new gameplay video for Persona 5.

Featured above, the new gameplay shows the protagonist spending some leisurely time in the local public bath. However, he spends a bit too much time and ends up passing out on the floor.

Persona 5 will launch in Japan on September 15th, 2016 and in North America and Europe on February 14th, 2017.

In this case it would actually make sense, since public bath tubs in Japan aren’t open to foreigners. There’s been a debate about this ever since a white person in Japan was told to besically get the hell out and started to point out the widespread discrimination in Japan.

It is quite fucked up. And the thing is, when you come back from Japan, and you actually point out that Japan has some “issues” regarding race. You are told that Japan has no issues from all the tourists who never experienced Japan outside of Tokyo (Tokyo which loves foreigners since tourism makes them money).

Hm, I don’t think that’s quite true. Also, remember that we got nudist beaches, so this really shouldn’t be such a big deal.

Further on they had a gay bath house scene and stripper + pron scene in Persona 4, and even more shocking taboos further in. I don’t really think we should worry with Persona, as they basically sell on this stuff not to mention that they usually do it with class too.

Many are, but not all. But it’s not uncommong to see a black person (a rare specimen in Japan) walk into a store in Japan and everyone walking out, as some sort of silent protest. It is incredibly odd to experience it.

Yes mostly, since they look very different and they visit Japan less frequent. In Tokyo this will never happen, it is once you move beyond the tourist cities that this starts to happen.

And that’s why it’s frustrating to talk about these issues, since most westerners never see Japan outside of the tourist areas, so they can’t relate to it and have a hard time accepting what you’re telling them.

Depends on where you are and who you meet.

I feel like there’s 2 kinds of people. People who are xenophobic, older people outside of the main cities who just are fearfull of different races. Once you talk to them in Japanese they will let their guard down and are great people.

Then there are others who are simply racist, they won’t accept you. It is often silent racism, but you see the numbers in polls against any form of migration (80%+ is against in Japan). Even if economists in the country keep telling the people that the social system will collapse if they don’t get new people. Even if those people (often indonesian workers) have worked in Japan as guest workers for years, they will not accept them as Japanese.

It depends on where you are, the more used to foreigners the area is, the more that first group will welcome you.

Damn, sucks to hear this. I’ve been learning the language for a few years so I can hopefully one day go on a hiking trip around Japan’s old temples and such, and top it all off with a ryokan/hot spring combo. It’s pretty much just the baby test but I’m aiming for the N5 at the end of this year, and hopefully an N3/N2 next year, since that’s what most companies require from foreign workers.

Knowing that I might be refused service or discriminated not even because I’m black, but because I’m a foreigner, is pretty depressing coming from a country I look up to.

Yes, but the key word is some. You need to respect that not everyone want your business for whatever reason they see valid.

There are plenty of businesses in the EU (and US I assume) that does the same because the “foreigners” just can’t handle some of the local things. Take the Nederlands drug laws (now not legal for foreigners, because they always ended up being “loud”), in France around Nice (after the terror things) you are not allowed to use burkas on public beaches anymore, many countries do not allow religious symbols in certain areas, many clubs are “members only” (I believe this is the type of case we speak of here), To enter the St. Peters you are not allowed to wear short shorts and/or skirts (even on a hot day) and there are many unwritten rules you must follow. If you go to a nudist beach and walk around with a boner you’d usually get kicked out, if you suck so much in golf that you are a danger for others every time you make a drive, or when you enter a stripper club you are not allowed to touch the strippers when they do a lap dance. Some places if you walk around bare chested (man) you are told to put a shirt on. If you go hunting or get a weapon license you’d usually have to either take a test and maybe be a national resident, or some activities are military only which also often is linked to nationality. All of these are rules many foreigners (difficult to speak to because of the language barrier) has a hard time getting, so some just try to avoid those costumers all together.

As a foreigner it would usually be smarter to just realize that some of the more “special things” has a set of rules we just don’t get, and can’t learn on the go, and if we don’t enter with a clear understanding of what’s going on (it is usually cultural/language specific, not ethnicity) it is best if we just stay clear.

The most memorable I have from recent time was a wedding I was in, which was very traditional with folk dance, flute music and everything. It was a hot day and we left the door open to get ventilation, and a bunch of Asians just entered and started taking a bunch of pictures, not to mention they were quite loud in their native language (they basically entered the wedding hall without an invitation, acting like paparazzies). The family father did of course get rather upset, but kindly showed them out while locking the door after them. This was probably just a cultural clash where they most likely didn’t realize that an open door doesn’t necessary mean that they can come in, and just because the locals do it doesn’t necessary mean you can get in on it.

Sometimes the “membership only” is code for “do it right”. There is thus a possibility that some just discriminate against 100% of the group because 85%-95% of them mess up. There also are some who target a specific demographic, and “ignorant foreigners” ruin it. Take for example churches/religious buildings, which are public areas. For many these churches are places of prayers, and a certain act of behavior. If people come inside and start talking loudly or taking pictures, etc. then you ruin it for those who wanted to come there for other reasons. The priests might then throw you out. Public baths in Japan might have similar sensitives (I would not know) and the local managers have grown tired of silly gaijin’s unacceptable behavior that they just shun them all together. I would also believe it would be nice to have some places free of foreigners for the local population as tourists can be quite tiresome at times. For there to be places like that on the countryside is very much possible. This is usually why there are designated and specialized cities/areas they are attempted to be allocated towards as they got people more acceptable and willing to adapt, and has understanding for foreigner’s differences, views and needs. To demand that everyone are willing to gather to our foreigner’s whims is a bit selfish in my view. When we visit other countries we are guests and must follow their rules. If you find those rules silly, then go somewhere else. Also, I’d say do not expect everyone to like you. If you are from say the US, I would probably not expect everyone in Nagasaki and Hiroshima to like you. It may be wrong to blame the current generation for what happened before. It is stupid, but it happens. Finally I’d advise you to remember that there are stupid/harmful people everywhere. Japan has some of the lowest crime in the world, but they still got the Yakuza. Further on there are discriminating people everywhere (may it be on religion, nationality, ethnicity, or whatever). Just don’t use those minorities as an excuse to picture everyone in a bad light. Most people are nice, and if you call everyone racists because someone is, then that would ultimately make you the true racist. Don’t be that person.

Are you sure you are not overly sensitive? Why bash all of Japan over something that (maybe) happens on the country side? If there are any “anti-white” groups in Japan, don’t you think they are a minority? Also, it is not like they hurt tourists, but just ask them to go somewhere else? Sticking to the bigger cities could be an option if one truly is scared of anti-white nihon-jins and any snappy remark. Personally I’d just try weather the storm where I’d bet 99% of the time things work out ok, where most people I’ve heard of has had no issues. Only exception is maybe Americans going to Nagasaki or Hiroshima, though that one should probably be pretty obvious as for why they’d be skeptical.

However, I do think Japan has far more issues with culturally condoned and ingraned racism in their society. When indonesian workers take care of older people in Japan, live there for years, when indonesia prevents the quickly aging Japan from demographically desintegrating…that some people in Japan then refuse to even accept these people, let alone give them the Japanese identity, points to severe issues in Japanese society regardint not just race, but identity and lack of respect towards foreigners.

Japan is a ticking timebomb when it comes to demographics, the Japanese population is dropping by a quater of a million each year. This is a social disaster waiting to happen if they don’t accept some form of migration or find a way out. If it wasn’t for indonesian workers in Japan, the social structure in Japan would have collapsed years ago. These indonesia workers should be treated with the upmost respect, and they are treated with disdain instead.

    “accept some form of migration”
    THIS NEVER WORKS
They have to incentivize marriage and procreation in their country. It is the historically purest and most powerful method to prevent demographic zero.

How do they incentivize this? First, STOP PROPAGANDIZING FILTH IN MEDIA
Next, STOP PROMOTING TIMIDITY IN MEN

And lastly, START PROMOTING OBSEQUIOUS WIVES

Paint marriage as GOOD, paint wives as DESIRABLE and being the husband-honoring helpers they are meant to be, and present men as men– loving, caring, authoritative earners who are treated with respect and who in turn treat their wives with heartfelt tenderness. Children are good, being single is bad, being a whore or a homosexual is bad etc. These must be promoted to endorse procreation and save the society

    Basically everything in the Bible.
But then again, this is our world we’re talking about, let alone Nippon. I doubt they would take this cure to their ills. too much PRIDE

Well, the 3rd pillar of Abenomics (economic plan of the current president), is getting more women to work to boost Japan’s GDP and give investors some more confidence so they don’t start getting rid of government bonds (Japan has the largest debt to GDP in the world, far higher than greece, this is possible as long as investors hold the bonds and get interest, those bonds are pure debt).

So the idea that women in Japan will become housewives and have more kids, rectifying Japan’s demographics problem, is unlikely, and frankly no longer possible at this point.

It’s not just Japan that is suffering the demographic downslope. White populations in Europe, Australia and the US are experiencing less births and more old people. Japan is different. They have demographics that are nowhere seen on earth, in fact Japan’s demographics have never been seen in history.

There has to be someone propping up the economy, and it’s not going to be Japanese kids when you look at the demographics.

The backdrop of this is important, Japan has the highest debt to GDP in the world. 230% of their GDP. The two other countries below Japan, were Greece and Zimbabwe, they both went bankrupt.

That debt exists as government bonds, the government prints money by selling bonds, and they give interest on those bonds. But when the investors who hold the bonds, lose confidence, it’s basically game over just like in Greece.

The question is….where will Japan get young people if not through migration (which the majority of Japanese don’t want). It’s not going to come from Japanese kids, one of the pillars of Abenomics is putting more women to work.

More fear mongering hiding under the veil of statistics. That is the general trend of first world nations because, who would’ve known, having functional social healthcare can prolong people’s lifespans, let’s not forget the relatively advanced lifestyles they lead. When you’re surrounded by cool gadgets and shit, your whole life won’t revolve just eating, sleeping and fucking.
Which brings us to the state of the third world. Their demographics are in reverse, with more kids than adults. And what do you know they suffer from constant warfare, hunger and strife. The mortality rate is among the highest in those places which means they gotta breed like rabbits to sustain themselves.
What you’re advocating for is Japan to become Palestine, Congo and Pakistan. Just admit it.

  48. Nisani
    Nisani
    August 28, 2016 at 1:45 am

This is not fearmongering. Japanese companies are already short on labour force.

““Lack of sufficient construction labor is often cited as the cause of the capacity limitation, but ncreased demand for, and rising prices of, construction materials also play a role,” added Tarchi, who is representative director at Permasteelisa Japan. He has called for a new certification process that would smooth the path into Japan for foreign workers with the requisite skills and experience.”

“In the EBC 2014 white paper, there was a bold recommendation in anticipation of the looming labor shortage, predicting Tohoku and the Olympics would “further strain the already tight construction labor market”. Japan, the white paper says, “should liberalise its immigration policy so that construction companies can use overseas skilled labor on
    fixed-term contracts”.”

There is a shortage not just because Japanese kids often don’t want to do certain jobs, but usually because they don’t EXIST within Japanese society, Japan is ALREADY resorting to foreign labour because they are forced to. But due to how those foreigners are treated, they are less and less inclined to help Japan out.

“Oh noes, we are in dire need of laborers who will likely have trouble assimilating into our society, let alone knowing how to deal with our work ethic.”

These are not the cream of the crop (which is what controlled immigration aims at) that these cheap companies want. It’s the bottom of the barrel who would lick shit off toilets if they could only because their new foreign workplace pays higher than a decent job from the motherland. These groups of low-skilled, likely-undereducated foreigners will not and SHOULD not become the bedrock of the next Japanese generation.

Who is going to take care of Japan’s older people if Japanese refuse to do it and if there’s not enough Japanese kids?

Who is going to prop up those bonds to prevent the economy from spiraling out of control if not migrants.

And unintentional good job from those countries because they’re unwittingly preserving Japan’s national identity and dignity.

Never seen the anime, but you can’t force people to marry.

Japan’s population drops about around 200,000 to a quarter of a million a year, to put it in perspective.

You can’t force a woman to have more kids than she is comfortable with either. It is hard to stimulate a family to have more kids. One of the reasons Japanese have less kids is exactly because of the economic uncertainty.

Then there’s the politics, Abernomics includes stimulating women to get to work to prop up the workforce.

And a better alternative is to force them to accept strangers and frolic and make love to them? See how preposterous that sounds outside of your rhetoric.

You keep forgetting the stable lifestyle that lessens the need to have kids, but that wouldn’t support your biases would it now?

And this is just Japan’s problem? Why don’t you research the average Caucasian family statistics why don’t ya. You’d be surprised that they’re also going, the way of the dodo in your eyes. You can hardly find the average American family anymore in most states since economic blowbacks such as the Recession forced everyone to tighten belts one way or another. Once again, not a Japan isolated incident.

“racism” is simply a code for anti-white and its genocide. Just like “tolerance” is pushed to make societies look like multiculturalism hellholes

Japan does not want to become like EU and NA does, but they seem to forget about the influence of jews and globalists

” in France around Nice (after the terror things) you are not allowed to use burkas on public beaches anymore”

Not anymore, the court repelled the ban.

to be honest, the burkini ban was stupid because it was just useless but also only reinforced the whole “victimhood mentality” of muslims. They’re pretty good at this game while getting cocky (by assaulting or murdering people left and right) since they have protection from the media and govt.

I’m against all forms of discrimination, but when you take a look at all the bigoted, dishonest, perpetually-offended, victim-hood grievance little shits from minorities and women in Europe and the West, maybe this is a good thing.

Japan will have seen how damaging and retarded the SJW victim-hood culture that’s going on in the West and Europe is. So if Japan double-downs on their so-called “xenophobia”, then I might just say that it’s partially justified. Look after yourself is my motto.

Like I said earlier, discrimination is never a good thing. But when minorities and women abuse the hell out of the system that results in the original citizens getting completely screwed over, then fuck ’em.

They mean Burkini and burkas look the same.

We often joke about them that those lolis should dress in those in games.

How ironic when SJWs want ecchi games to show less skin france wants the opposite of Muslim women to show more skin.

Funny that isnt it, and here in UK there called to banned face vial in public spaces.

I can see the liberty group going apeshit over it.

To those that say france and UK Right to do that whatever happen to freedom of expression.

Ah, I see– more failed “nomics” plans.

When you have both sexes working equally hard in competitive fields you inevitably leave the children home alone or in a daycare or, as is more likely, they become “something I will have later”

This idea was cancerous from the get-go. That fool PM should have known that men are already putting off the idea of marriage too long (as evidenced by lack of children) and encouraging more women in the workplace rather than incentivizing marriage and child-bearing leads to disaster. Pretty sure South Korea is further down this road.

Not to mention that this dymanic ultimately builds resentment between the sexes since one sees the other as muscling in on their territory and the other sees themselves as ahving to take on the man’s role. They begin to blame each other, which from what I’ve seen is exactly what’s happening. Men: “Women are golddiggers and bad mothers.”
Women: “Men are stingy and/or “herbivores” and need us to pick up for their slack.”
    that kind of thing

Public baths in my country were all shut down in the early seventies when the government made having bathrooms in housing mandatory.

The only thing that comes close now is showers that you can rent at truck stops or the airport.
