Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada’s newly revealed game, Birthdays, is getting a western release.
The game will come to North America and Europe via NIS America. While the announcement is in Japanese, the debut gameplay and screenshots were revealed for the upcoming sandbox simulation game.
The game is likened to a sandbox sim that focuses on creating, evolving, and building up environments for living creatures. Players can terraform the environment. As you change the landscape, creatures will adapt as time passes.
Here are the new screenshots, plus the game’s logo:
Birthdays is set for a PlayStation 4 launch in Japan on January 19th. The western release has yet to be dated.

August 25, 2016 at 9:25 amFWIW I think this game will be pretty safe when it comes to localization. I’m excited either way.. I love sandbox / sim games!

August 25, 2016 at 9:26 amLooks cool, but I’m not much of a “watch flowers grow” kind of guy, unless there’s a direct objective and a challange on arranging the lifeforms for “maximum evolutionary points” I will probably skip it.
“The game will come to North America and Europe via NIS America.”
Arc System Works noooooo, I thought they were tight with Aksys.

August 25, 2016 at 12:21 pmLooks cute, not really into sandbox games myself though.
I got a funny feeling NISA will find something to screw up though.

August 25, 2016 at 12:23 pmDon’t have a PS4 to grab it but looks interesting. If it finds its way to PC I’d definitely grab it.

August 25, 2016 at 1:25 pmWell with NISA and ArcSys both involved, there’s a decent chance I think.

August 25, 2016 at 1:37 pmNISA doing this? It really shows how much they’ve sunk XD, also this will sell more than Criminal Girls 2, that’s a given let’s just hope this game doesn’t come with those regular bugs that aren’t present in the original version that NISA tends to include

August 25, 2016 at 2:43 pmNIS scares me a bit as I have mostly fallen out of love with them, but this game looks like it has real potential!

August 26, 2016 at 12:51 amI’ve played Super Danganronpa 2 on the vita, and came across an issue where the dialogue and character sprites didn’t show up from loading a save. Also had to force shut down playing Ultra Despair Girls because it froze. Is it safe to assume that NISA could be responsible for that?

August 26, 2016 at 3:38 pmMaybe ASW wants a publisher that can release in both NA/EU. They can’t offer that decently and ASW suck at releasing there own games in Europe.

August 26, 2016 at 4:10 pmThis video looks like it’s media footage that shouldn’t be shared publicly, it’s unlisted and has no audio.
I like how the game looks though, seems comfy.
The game is clearly inspired on minecraft, but, this is the guy who has thousands of developers profiting off his Harvest Moon design so w/e.

August 27, 2016 at 12:12 pmThe creator of harvest moon made the game to get away from games with combat, then his series became run factory a game with combat.
