Nintendo has shared the Star Fox: The Battle Begins anime feature in preparation of Star Fox Zero’s encroaching launch.
Featured above, the nearly fifteen minute anime special features the game’s returning cast: Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy. As expected, they’re tasked with saving Corneria City from Andross and his evil army.
This anime production was made in collaboration between Production I.G., WIT Studio, and Shigeru Miyamoto.
Star Fox Zero is launching tomorrow, April 22nd, for Wii U.

April 21, 2016 at 11:14 amHow come the only furries on corneria are dogs? They don’t allow other furries to settle on their planet sequestering them on run down barren planets in the lylat system?

April 21, 2016 at 11:25 amNot even in an animated short does Peppy stop telling obvious things over radio. Goddamnit. -_-

April 21, 2016 at 12:54 pmI’m more concerned that Peppy is carrying the General’s scrotum as a memento.

April 21, 2016 at 1:15 pmFuck me, that was terrible. Isn’t Production IG supposed to be one of the best studios in the anime industry?

April 21, 2016 at 3:36 pmThere’s like maybe one cat in the background with her mouth agape. Probably a visitor from another planet wondering why her planet doesn’t have such splendor.

April 21, 2016 at 4:57 pmThis is a fictional world. Why are you making such a fuss about it, anyway?

April 21, 2016 at 5:28 pmCause it just stuck out to me within a universe of giant floating monkey heads and talking animals.
For a planet that holds 85% of the lylat system population there doesn’t seem to be any other lifeforms on corneria besides dog furries.
There’s the scalies from the SF adventure game and the SF team/Star Wolf team.
What happened to everyone else?

April 21, 2016 at 6:38 pmDon’t appreciate the fact Production I.G. and Wit taking all the credit when it’s Orange that did all the CG work.

April 21, 2016 at 7:23 pmThere’s a planet for every species I guess, and that is dog planet.

April 21, 2016 at 7:25 pmI actually enjoyed that, cheesy dialogue, CGI and 2D mixed, bad old memes and all that aside, it was fun and had a good pacing, the characters seemed fun in their interactions and the action had a proper escalation until the climax.
If the game’s gameplay and controls weren’t getting such terrible reception or if I could buy it and refund it digitally if I wasn’t happy with it, I’d even consider getting the game.

April 21, 2016 at 8:55 pmThat low frame rate, 12fps cinematic
Is this a PS4 anime?
Black_Bob
April 21, 2016 at 9:44 pmWell, technically Production I.G. is a customer of theirs. They were probably contracted to do the work through them. Production I.G. would still hold some credit. If they took all the credit, they wouldn’t have credited them in the “credits”.

April 21, 2016 at 9:46 pmThey still are but it looks like the CG work was contracted out to Orange Co. LTD. http://www.orange-cg.com/index.html as another comment had pointed out.

April 22, 2016 at 6:56 amThey live somewhere else on Coneria. I mean, take America for an example; there are places where you can find several people of several cultures and in some locations you find only the same people. The tower is just one of the many locations we see. I bet that, if they would make a fully flesh-out anime series of Starfox, the ration of different species would be different. But maybe Coneria is the homeworld of the anthropomorphic dog race in Starfox. We don’t know until Nintendo gives us more info and I doubt they will do this in Starfox or in any of their games, because it is not necessary.
