The Idolmaster: Platinum Stars Shows Gameplay In Latest Trailer

The newest trailer for The Idolmaster: Platinum Stars has gone live through Bandai Namco Entertainment’s YoutTube channel.

The trailer focuses quite a bit on gameplay showing off the greatly improved graphics – everything from character models to shaders have gotten a beautiful upgrade – and the animations during songs and the other assorted  scenes have gotten an amazing amount of polish. Make sure to check this one out in 1080p with 60fps for the full effect.

The Idolmaster: Platinum Stars is a PS4 exclusive that is set for a July 28th launch in Japan.

The select screen looks like a fighting game. Eventually the girls must fight to the death. There can be only one Idolmaster.

senran kagura is successful enough and new one has a shit ton of DLC.
and this gaijin is bought all the dlc which totaled to more than the game’s on release price.

So yeah don’t be so sure about gaijins not playing for dlc.

Closest you’re going to get is Asia release possibly w/English subs. Unless KT’s experiment with DOA’s DLC turns out to prove itself a windfall of a profit outside its native market.

[email protected] exists on its DLC as it’s primary income and execs at Bandai have gone on record stating they forsee no positive results from importing [email protected] in game form to other markets.

Dead or Alive Last Round’s constant DLC output. Frankly, only time I recall anyone putting major money in the west into a dev’s crazy dlc practices are the CoD heads and Destiny players.

How many times did you buy their iOS game to show support for the franchise tho?

    Bamco demands tribute for idols.

I have a friend who worked for Bandai Namco USA who used to pitch [email protected] every chance he got, and according to him, the odds of us seeing any of the idolmaster franchise in English, (excepting possibly the mobile games at the furthest stretch of imagination) are essentially nil.
The Japanese overlords are reportedly very set in their xeno-isolationist ways — to hear tell, BN Japan resents the USA division (if not the entire NA market) because of poor sales, but if it’s true, it’s a situation of their own making.
The NA studios are never allowed access to any core BN franchises like Pac-Man, Soul, or Tales. They forced the USA branch to release garbage like Splatterhouse and Afro Samurai because that’s what they think NA gamers want. BN only begrudgingly self-publishes localized titles, which they frequently do a shit job on, and interpret the consequently poor sales as a lack of demand. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Ranko and I think Rin were added rival characters initially. Then they added a couple more for the main [email protected] cast to compete with in All 4 One. Either way CG cast is way too big to be contained in a console [email protected] game.

Japanese xbox 360 sales figures happened. Same thing happened to relevancy of lost odyssey, despite being pretty good game. And pretty much cornered market on J-RPGs for ps3 till the end of generation. Japanese don’t want xbox.
