RiME Developer Reacquires Rights From Sony

RiME developer Tequila Works has had a rough time in getting their game a secure publisher, with Microsoft turning the game down originally and now Sony having seemingly dropped the game.

The latter bit of news came recently as Tequila Works themselves have confirmed they’ve reacquired right to the IP from Sony, meaning the publisher has dropped the game and now Tequila Works is stuck either self-publishing or looking for a new partner.


“Tequila Works has chosen to reacquire the rights to its adventure game, RiME, and is working hard to realise its aspirations for it,” said the developer in their statement.

Rime is an open-world adventure-puzzle game where players explore the ruins of an ancient civilization. You can view its latest trailer (which is over a year old) below:
