In what is now the very first fully translated Japanese-made RPG Maker game to be released on Steam, the newly launched Hero & Daughter+ promises to give JRPG fans something a little different than the high-minded epics most games using the engine try to be.

Having won praise from Dragon Quest creator Koichi Nakamura along with the top prize at the 4th NiKoNiKo Indie Game Festival, Hero & Daughter+ revolves around the hero Ralph, who after losing all of his powers and being sent back down to “level 1”, must rely upon summoned magical girls to fight his battles for him.

These girls all fit into specific combat roles such as fighter and mage – but more than that – they also fit certain fantasies of the game’s creator and run the gamut from scantily clad vampires to adorable school girls.

Besides collecting and level-grinding the 30 pretty girls you’ll meet, there is also a town building mechanic that allows you to personalize your party’s own dwelling. Though the main quest is said to only take 10 hours, there is also a 9,999 floor optional dungeon that can be entered if the player feels up to the challenge.

The developer states that the game also features several romantic scenes with the summoned girls, and some of these include a dip in a hot spring or two as well.

Hero & Daughter+ is currently 10% off on Steam, putting it at $8.99USD for those wanting to take part in the light-hearted storyline it offers.
