Get Revenge On Your Wife For Murdering You In Indie Platformer Dead Knight

There you are, minding your own business…being the dutiful husband you consider yourself to be. When, for reasons we aren’t privy to yet, your loving wife kills you. What’s worse is, you’re now buried deep enough to where there’s a good distance between you and your ex-spouse.

Fortunately, you’ve been brought back from the dead.

Unfortunately, you no longer have a skull.

This is the predicament you’ll find yourself in the new indie game Dead Knight. Being developed by Backterria, it’s described by the author as a “Roguevania” with the prerequisite large amounts of loot and delicious permadeath that goes along with roguelikes and metroidvanias. Even better, it would seem that the missing head plot device is a major part of the game, since you can equip the skulls of your fallen enemies to gain their unique abilities, such as putting a bat’s head onto your neck to gain the power of flight.

Though the game is currently very early in development and has just one floor available for play, you can download it from the author’s website for any price you deem worthy. One look at the terrific animation and pixelwork (not to mention the humorous premise) should make this a game to keep an eye on. Thanks to Indie Retro News for the tip.
