Dragon Fin Soup Launching Soon, New Trailer Revealed

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from Grimm Bros., the five-person team working on the Kickstarter-funded tactical action RPG Dragon Fin Soup.

However, the developer is primed to release the game soon, and they’ve now released the game’s launch trailer (featured above). While a release date isn’t confirmed, we know the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, and PS Vita release date will be announced “soon.”

Dragon Fin Soup is a tactical action RPG with roguelike elements, set in a twisted, dark, and utterly charming fantasy world inspired by the 2D, top-down RPG classics seen on older platforms. Here are some of the game’s key features:

  • Superfluid turn-based tactical combat
  • Raging alcoholic bounty hunter heroine
  • New procedurally generated world each time you play
  • Mercenaries for hire and awesome pets to collect
  • Over 60+ hours of roguelike gameplay in Story, Survival & Labyrinth modes

The game is described as a “half story-driven, […] half high0stakes roguelike,” with a “pinch of crass humor,” as well as a “heaping helping of murder & madness. The entire world in the game is procedurally generated, and you’ll be playing as the raging alcoholic bounty hunter, Red Robin.

It’s worth mentioning the Xbox One, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS versions are coming later. For now, you can peruse the game’s various game pages for PlayStation and PC distribution platforms, via its official website.
