While Level-5’s Yo-Kai Watch franchise is all the rage now in Japan, one company is trying to bring some more attraction to the almost two-decade old Pokémon franchise.

Sanoyas Interaction have announced (via Inside Games) they’re opening a hands-on, edutainment building called the “Pokémon EXPO Gym” in Osaka. The new facility will be opening up on November 19th. The “Pokémon EXPO Gym Gear” app is also launching for smartphones sometime early next month, providing users with their ranking and stats at the gym, as well as other unconfirmed features.

This is the first real-life, physical experience for the Pokémon series in Japan, believe it or not. The goal is to provide fans with advice on Pokémon via tips on each Pokémon’s abilities, as well as provide a place for kids to learn and have fun together.

There’s a multitude of training programs at the gym, including things like “Gardevoir’s Control Score” and “Charizard’s Battle Colosseum,” among others. As you progress through your training, you can be rewarded with special Pokémon for the latest games in the series.
