Nintendo snuck out the news of an entirely new amiibo this morning, rather, a new size for the Yarn Yoshi amiibo variant.

The Mega Yarn Yoshi (as Nintendo isn’t really known for superfluous naming conventions) is quite a bit larger when compared to the regular-sized Yarn Yoshi’s:

The Mega Yarn Yoshi will enable players to use some new abilities in Yoshi’s Woolly World, which is launching in North America on October 16th (it’s been available in Europe, Australia, and Japan).

When tapping the Mega Yarn Yoshi on the Wii U GamePad, you can unlock the “Double Yoshi” ability, which naturally lets you use two Yoshi’s at the same time. You’ll also be able to save a Yoshi pattern directly to the amiibo. Both abilities are available with the regular-sized Yarn Yoshi amiibo.

Finally, the Mega Yarn Yoshi amiibo will set you back $40, in comparison to the regular amiibo price tag of $17. The Mega Yarn Yoshi will launch on November 15th.
