We’ve gotten the first details for the recently confirmed Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune for PlayStation 4 and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus for PS Vita, from this week’s Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou).
The newest issue of the magazine has an interview with game producer Yosuke Hayashi. We’ve compiled the translated details for you, which you can find below.
As we previously reported, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is currently only being developed for the Asia region, including Japan. However, Hayashi did make a point in saying that if there is enough demand from the fans, the developer might release a modified version for North America.
The game will be made to utilize Team Ninja’s glorious Soft Engine, only this time we’ll be seeing an improved 2.0 version. The PS Vita port, however, will use a customized “Soft Engine Lite,” as well as specific mechanics that make use of the gyro sensor and the touch panel.
The team is looking to reward players even more for spending lots of time with their favorite characters, or who selectively use only one character when playing the game. There will be more things you can do when spending time with said characters. There’s also a camera mode, which probably compliments this even moreso.
Suntans have gotten an upgrade, so expect your favorite combatants-gone-beachgoers to get some color while spending time out in the sun. Hayashi also made a point in saying that while the series is known for its female characters, Dead or Alive Xtreme will not have all female characters.
Finally, on August 20th Koei Tecmo is going to release custom themes for the game. These custom themes will each prominently feature 15 of the ladies from the series, and nine of the most downloaded characters will be included into the game.
A release date was not confirmed, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
