Two Years After Release, Blade of Destiny HD Gets A Major Patch

It was two years ago in July of 2013 that the HD remake of cult-classic DOS era CRPG Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny was released on Steam. Expecting the game to be the rightful computerized heir to the Das Swarze Auge tabletop legacy, players were understandably upset when the game was pushed out both unfinished and, to many, virtually unplayable. After much drama, which included a temporary de-listing from the Steam database itself, many thought the game would be abandoned. Bugs had yet to be fixed, graphical glitches were left untouched and many of the game’s features remained broken.

Knowing this, you can imagine fan’s surprise when a brand new patch was uploaded for the game yesterday that apparently has fixed most of what has been plaguing the game for the past two years.

The patch notes are long and can be read on the game’s Steam page.

The patch also adds in extensions and improvements to the game’s end-user modability, which should allow players to fix anything that the patch did not.
