Comcept’s Red Ash Gets Console Stretch Goal – Platform to be Decided After Funding

Comcept have revealed a console stretch goal for their Kickstarter-funded game, Red Ash: The Indelible Legend.

Unlike most console stretch goals – this one is for a to-be-determined console. Yes, this means you’ll be funding towards a console that you may not own. To be clear, the console port sits at $1 million, while the $1.5 million goal adds episodes IV and V.

The update provided some clarify to why the console port cannot be fully revealed at this time. Apparently, Comcept is in talks with the console makers, and from what it sounds like – the game will only be coming to one of the big three (Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U).

“Another reason that we can’t announce the console now is because we need to negotiate with the console makers. It’s a big assignment for us, but we are confident we’ll have great support due to the team’s prior work with the consoles. We will keep you updated right here with all the latest developments on that.”

However, Comcept do mention that a poll will be sent out to measure which console will be picked, although it remains unclear whether this means backers have more say over the console makers, as well as that the results of the poll won’t be revealed until after the campaign ends:

“Most importantly, we want to port RED ASH to the console most wished for by our backers. We will put up a preliminary poll soon, so you can make your voice heard and let our team know where you want RED ASH on consoles first! Then, once the campaign ends, we will send a survey to make your final vote! The survey will only be available to backers, so be sure to tell everyone you can about this big news!”

So, in conclusion – if you just want to support the game (or if you just want it on PC and don’t care for consoles), this doesn’t affect you. For those who want to see the Mega Man Legends successor on their preferred console, tread with caution.
