Xbox One Gains 360 Backwards Compatibility

Announced at Microsoft’s E3 conference was the news that backwards compatibility for 360 titles will be added into the Xbox One. This is presumably what last weeks “secret” update was about, since it was said it was related to an E3 announcement that had yet to leak out.

Though there isn’t a list available on which games can be used with the feature, they did show Mass Effect playing on the machine. They even took a screenshot from the Xbox One GUI while playing, which shows that you’ll get the new features of our current systems placed into the older games of the 360.

We’ll keep you updated if a list of the backwards compatible games appear, since it’s likely they may slowly trickle them in as they did with the 360’s Xbox Original backwards compatibility.

UPDATE: thanks to reader Audie Bakerson, the first listing of what games will work with the new feature has been uploaded.
