Coming from this week’s Famitsu is the news of Samurai Warriors: 4 getting an Empires edition. Following the same basic formula as the Dynasty Warriors Empires series, Samurai Warriors 4: Empires will add in a ton of strategic elements to the game, making the Warriors gameplay a bit more involved.
The game will be coming from Samurai Warriors 4-II, and will feature the 56 characters that are shown in 4-II. The combat system from 4-II will also be used as the basis for the Empires version, likely with some additions to reflect the Empires portion of the game.
Koei has gone on record saying that they plan to make Samurai Warriors 4: Empires the most strategic in the Empires vain yet, and have added a new “Resident Domestic Administration” feature. They have even added a room where you will be able to work on developments and issue commands, making the system easier and more fun than ever before.
Koei has also said they want to put more focus on the preparations going into the battle, rather than a battle itself, and have balanced the game as such. This means that forcing your way through with a small elite force will not be as easy as it usually is, but rather still require good strategies and techniques to come out on top in difficult battles. Internal affairs and managing of your prefectures will be more important than ever.
As usual, the game will progress as you try to grow your land and amass power through the help of your recruited commanders. And now, affinity between your commanders will have a greater effect due to the effects in the Resident Domestic Affairs.
And, as always, the game is set to contain an edit mode, marriage events and more.
The game is set for a September 3, 2015 release in Japan for PS4, PS3, and Vita.
