Studio Wildcard revealed the ambitious, open world dinosaur survival game yesterday – and we knew the game would support Oculus Rift on PC. With the game coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One as well, it raises the question: will it support Sony and Microsoft’s respective virtual reality headsets?
Now, Sony Computer Entertainment and Studio Wildcard have confirmed the game will support Project Morpheus on the Playstation 4.
“After working for almost three years pioneering and creating high-end experiences for HMDs, I can tell you with good confidence that not much compares to soaring over the jungles and mountains of ARK’s islands on the back of your very own pteranodon,” said Jesse Rapczak, founder and technical art director of Studio Wildcard. “The feeling of immersion the team has created in this beautiful world simply has to be experienced first-hand; it is profound and impactful, and even for me was a little bit surprising when I first tried ARK in VR.”
It’ll be interesting to see how the game plays with a headset, Oculus or Morpheus, when it ships next year.
