Sony has confirmed that it will not have a formal press conference at this year’s Gamescom Expo. Instead, it will be revealing new games and information at this year’s Paris Games Week.
The publisher confirmed the news in a press release:

“We’re delighted to announce that we will be hosting an international media briefing at Paris Games Week on 27th October. With the changes this year of E3 taking place a week later and Gamescom taking place earlier, we feel that both PlayStation and the wider industry would benefit from a major news milestone later in the year, during the most important period for gaming. We are excited about our plans and look forward to sharing some exciting announcements. We will share more information closer to the time.”

This is the first time the company will not be holding a press conference at the German trade show since 2009.

While Gamescom 2015 runs from August 5th to the 9th, Paris Games Week comes a bit later, between October 28th to November 1st.

Is it worrying, or interesting, to see the company leave Gamescom, for Paris Games Week?
