If you’re old enough, you may remember Myst. Revolutionizing the point+click genre with its (at the time) state-of-the-art visuals and lore, it dominated the charts in the mid 90s and was one of those games that helped shape the hobby’s culture and greatly contributed to the PC platform’s growth.

Now, thanks to Matt Tolmach and Evan Daugherty, Myst will be making the leap into television.

Well, sort of. Designed to be shown on Hulu, the show will focus on the island and its history, with a clueless player/protagonist exploring the surreal environment. This is not only good news for 90s fans, but also Hulu, who has been ramping up production on original series in a big to compete with Netflix.

Apparently, this project has been in the planning stage for over a decade and was only recently made possible thanks to Hulu. Also interesting is the fact that a companion game is said to come out that will help promote the series.
