Playtonic Games’ Kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee, their colorful spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, has annihilated the majority of its stretch goals.

The Kickstarter campaign went live yesterday to near-unanimous fanfare, which saw the project’s minimum funding achieved in less than an hour. It quickly reached $1,000,000 USD in six hours, which sounds like something of a record for video game Kickstarters. (it is a record, as Torment: Tides of Numenera reached $1 million in seven hours).

With the majority of the stretch goals achieved thus far, backers and fans alike can expect a day one release across Playstation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Mac, and Linux, as well as unique bosses+boss music for each level, a pre-final boss quiz show, transformations into “unexpected things” with new controls and abilities (and a new NPC), two player cooperative play in story mode, a 2-4 player local multiplayer versus mode, multi-language options, and more.

If you haven’t checked out Yooka-Laylee, head on over to the game’s Kickstarter page.
