Steam Database Update Reveals XSEED Possibly Working on Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed

akiba's trip undead and undressed 03-23-15-1

An update on the Steam database (thanks, RollyKahn!) has revealed XSEED as the publisher of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. For now, file this under a rumor, but let’s dive into this a bit more.

This is following the listing of the game on Steam back in December of last year. That listing came alongside a Steam Community page for the game, which has since been removed. It’s also worth mentioning the listing for Akiba’s Trip is connected to four other apps, all of which are tied to XSEED as well.

We’ve reached out to XSEED Games for comment – but we’ll keep you guys posted.

Yeah I pointed that out in the article, the listing came up last year but it had no publisher. This has XSEED now :P

Watch other sites credit this to NeoGAF like they always do with SteamDB updates…

For those into speculation, following the Steam sub it was added to ( https://steamdb.info/sub/13578/apps/ ) shows 4 other unknown apps by XSEED were added to the “XSEED (Partner)” sub at the same time

    https://steamdb.info/app/312540/subs/
    https://steamdb.info/app/312560/subs/
    https://steamdb.info/app/251290/subs/
    https://steamdb.info/app/251270/subs/

The first two were added June 30th 2014 while the second two existed since at least August 2013.

I was trying to avoid mentioning the apps as they could be anything, but I’ll add them to the post now.

Get a clue, Japan. PC gamers and Steam wants your games, and badly.

We want their GOOD games. I personally don’t want a DOA 5-level port where they just dump a slightly up-rezzed PS3 version on Steam and call it a day. Give us quality or expect low sales.

Yep. Worst thing is it’ll probably be used as an excuse for future games not being ported if it performs bad, which is quite likely at this point.

True, but they can’t fault us for not eating a shit sandwich and then not asking for seconds, as well. If you serve up garbage that we know is garbage we’re not going to buy it. Period. Maybe that will fly on consoles, but not PC.

At this rate I wonder if we’ll see Senran Kagura blessing the PC at some point.

I agree with the general sentiment, even if I do feel the part about consoles was a bit uncalled for. In any case, I know I’m also not supporting shitty PC ports, with very rare exceptions. Take Dark Souls, for example. I bought it because DS2 was heavily improved in that regard and the first one can be modded to decent.

Well, I wouldn’t be too concerned. DOA 5 is the second port Tecmo has done. Besides, I imagine that those bonuses that got unlocked as the pre-orders ramped up were designed to pay for the port before the game came out. Unless people start canceling their Steam preorders (is that even a thing?), this port is already paid for, before the game is even out.

What was the reception on this game? I remember seeing gameplay video and thinking it was lacking quite a bit. Also this is the sequel right? The original was never localized.
