• The Original Armored Core is Becoming a PS1 Classic this Week

    I have fond memories of the original Armored Core on the PlayStation. The game was heralded as a standout title in the mecha genre of video games, and it featured astonishing graphics and mechanics for its time. Developed by From Software, it was released back in 1997.

    The game is now coming to the Playstation Network as a PS1 Classic this week, news confirmed over on the Playstation Blog. For those who haven’t been following the Armored Core series, there are currently 15 titles released to date, and From Software doesn’t seem to be stopping the franchise any time soon.

    Will the game age well? As with many original PlayStation games that were the first to really push 3D graphics on consoles, it’s hard to say. Either way, make sure to consider picking the game up, and enjoy a piece of gaming and mecha history!
