Gocco of War, the Cute as a Button Doujin Shooter, is Greenlit on Steam

Previously, we reported on the adorable Japanese indie shooter, Gocco of War, and that doujin studio Peakvox had put the game onto Steam Greenlight.

Unfortunately for any fans that wanted the game to be finished – the game had to be greenlit for the team to agree upon completing its development. Thankfully, the game was successfully greenlit, last night.

While the game was only put onto Steam last month, it’s seemingly further along in development than you might think – it’s set for a summer 2015 release.

Needs to have better camera or a faster one, and more movement options (Dashes, jumping) or maybe defensive options (hiding behind cover, ducking), and at least a faster moving speed. nAt least it looks more done than your typical Early Access/Kickstarter title.

I mean it makes sense, it’s really a disincentive being unable to distribute your game on the largest PC game distributor.

“Summer 2015” as in NOT in Early Access? fucking sweet. I swear, some developers are like “sweet, they got us greenlit, they must want it NOW!” No, if I vote for a game on greenlight, I’m voting to guarantee you a spot on getting to Steam at some point. I find that developers are ready to almost immediately push their game into the Early Access program. Since the game is set so close to release from now, I don’t see it being in Early Access, or at least not linger there for so long for me to find out in a few years now “oh, is that still a thing being developed?”
