The Localization for Xenoblade Chronicles X is Underway

We got confirmation of the final Japanese release date for Xenoblade Chronicles X last week during Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Direct broadcast.

While us Westerners have yet to get an official release date, we’ve learned that Monolith Soft is already working on the localization for the game.

The news comes via Xenoblade Chronicles X producer Shingo Kawabata, who posted on the game’s official Twitter:

“This is kind of soon, but it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name’s Kawabata, I’m the producer on Xenoblade Chronicles X. From now onwards it won’t be just [executive director] Takahashi, but also the other staff from Monolith taking part in these tweets. I’m the first one to post here.”

He went on to write that the wait for an English release took a bit too long, but that localization has begun, and that he believes fans will get something worth the wait:

“It’s been roughly five years since the release of Xenoblade Chronicles, and coming from that we’ve made our fans wait for a long time. To be honest, it has felt the same way to us, the developers on the series. Localization on the game has already begun, and I feel like we’ve made something worth the wait. Please hold on until the game releases.”

While the game has been confirmed for a Western launch, this is the first official confirmation of the translation work being done.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is launching in Japan on April 29th, exclusively for Wii U.
