Here’s the First In-Depth Look at Majora’s Mask 3D [UPDATE]

Yesterday, Nintendo confirmed the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. Now, we’ve gotten a tour of the game from series producer Eiji Aonuma.

The walkthrough kicks off with Aonuma showing a soon-to-be-crashed party (festival). Afterwards, he muses around the town and shows off some of the characters you’ll meet on your journey. There are these new owl save points in Majora’s Mask 3D. To be clear, the save points existed before, only now they have a new look and they’ve been migrated to new spots. There’s also the “Feather Statues,” where Link can save at any time in game.

Aonuma proceeds north, only to bump into the infamous Tingle, floating on a balloon. He laughs, and says that he’s unsure if it’s the same Tingle from all those years ago. He takes a visit to Major Dotour, who is having problems of his own. We also get a look at the new feature, dubbed the “Case Memo,” at the 6:30 mark. This is a feature that was added to the Bomber’s Notebook, which contributes notes whenever you find out new info, aiding you in your progress.

Finally, around the 14:20 mark, Aonuma shows off a secret where you can discover a hidden silver Rupee. He admits that he only recently found this, while veteran players have probably found this in the original game.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is coming to both North America and Europe on February 13th for the Nintendo 3DS.

[UPDATE: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D can be bought bundled with a special Limited Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL in Japan, which bundle includes the below faceplate.]
