We’ve gotten some very interesting tidbits for both Sword Art Online: Lost Song and Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment via an interview with Dengeki Online and Lost Song producer Kawai Yasukazu.

First up, the news of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment selling over 450,000 units worldwide is certainly exciting for both fans of the PS Vita, and those hoping to see Lost Song getting an English localization. Previously, we reported on the game shipping over 400,000 units worldwide, but we didn’t have digital sales numbers.  The game sold 280,000 copies in Japan, 90,000 in Asia and finally 70,000 in North America.

We also learned the developer for Sword Art Online: Lost Song, who turns out to be Japanese studio Artdink. Both Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment were developed by Aquria. The decision for the developer was made after the production for the second season of the anime finished.

Over a hundred changes were made to Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment following the feedback from their fans, after they had released Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment for the PSP. Yasukazu previously said that if Hollow Fragment sold 200,000 copies, a sequel would be made; and Lost Song isn’t a sequel, but an entirely new game.

Post-launch updates and downloadable content will be coming to Lost Song, just like they did with Hollow Fragment. The timing and amount of content wasn’t specified, but Yasukazu promised that it will be free, just like the previous game.

Finally, Yasukazu talked up doing as many Sword Art Online productions as possible, and he even added in a joke for making a virtual reality MMORPG himself, and that he hopes Bandai Namco can advance the virtual reality genre. Perhaps he and Katsuhiro Harada should talk?

In case you missed it, you can read our review for Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment here. Hopefully this means that Sword Art Online: Lost Song is coming Westward, at some point.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song is coming to both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in Japan on March 26th.
