The developers who made Sakura Spirit want to create an “angelic love comedy”, so publisher Sekai Project has put their new visual novel, Sakura Angels, up for the vote on Steam. You can view the trailer for the game above, and screenshots for it below.

Sakura Angels, apparently unrelated to Spirit in all but name and, well, spirit, follows two magical girls as they try to save “the lonely protagonist from the clutches of a mysterious witch and ancient evil”.

One of the few commercial visual novels developed outside of Japan and specifically for the English demographic, Sakura Spirit garnered quite the success, so much so that it’s even getting a Japanese translation. (If you want to know what we thought of it, you can read our review.) How will the developers’ sophomore effort fare?

Sakura Angels will be available through Steam for Windows, Linux, and Mac, should it get the go-ahead. If you’re interested in voting on the game, you can do so over on Greenlight.
