The box art for the game, featured above, was unveiled for both the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 3 versions of Dragon Quest Heroes.

Apart from that, Square Enix also revealed at the event that Psaro from Dragon Quest IV, voiced by Daisuke Ono, would be joining other returning characters.

This is the character, below.

Square Enix has also released a summary of what to expect from the game, gameplay-wise.

Players start their adventures at a base camp, which will have various facilities like weapon shops. From there, they can go to the world map screen and select a destination to go to battle in. Stages each have their own clear conditions; after these conditions have been met, players will have cleared the stage, and can return to the base camp.

Parties can consist of up to four characters, which the player can switch between and freely control. There’s also a meter called the Tension Gauge, filled by attacking enemies, which once full allows players to activate special moves which do large amounts of damage; one example of such a special move is Akuto’s “Giga Slash”.

As a little something extra, Square Enix has provided some brief but choice snippets of gameplay. We’ve taken the courtesy of highlighting the times for you, so just click play on each.

The first snippet of gameplay shows off an ability of Kiryl’s.

The second shows us a Gigantes battle.

This is a cutscene involving Akuto and Mehr.

Lastly, monster coins were introduced. Every time you defeat a monster in battle, it will drop a coin, which can then be used later to summon them to fight on your behalf. Monsters we know can be summoned in this way include the Slime Knight, Dracky, and Golem. The video below shows the system in action.

Dragon Quest Heroes will be released in Japan for the Playstation 3 and the Playstation 4 on February 26, next year.
