The Boobs & Bikini Filled Senran Kagura: Estival Versus OVA is Airing on March 29th

Marvelous has confirmed the date that we’ll be able to watch the Senran Kagura: Estival Versus – Eve Full of Swimsuits OVA.

The 30-minute original animation will broadcast (via AT-X) in Japan on March 29th, just a few days after the games themselves launch across both Playstation Vita and Playstation 4.

Here’s a synopsis of what kind of debauchery you can expect in the OVA:

The animation features 20 of the girls from the Senran Kagura series, and it kicks off with a letter arriving at the Gessen Girls’ Private School, inviting them to a spa resort for the day.

The four girls of the Gessen School were excited but Yumi was apparently skeptical. “No, this is completely evil!” she said, as she made notice that all four of them were procrastinating too much. “If we can’t agree, let’s play the boob version of rock, paper, scissors” said Shiki, as a suggestion. Shiki ended up winning, so off to the pool they went.

Things get interesting, however, as the ladies of the Hanzo National Academy, Homura Crimson Squad, and finally the Hebijo Clandenstine Girls’ Academy also came to the spa. “Let’s all enjoy this day together,” Asuka said while also declaring a temporary truce between the warring schools.

Things get out of hand when a small disagreement between Yumi and another girl leads to her suggesting they fight just like how their ancestors did, to finally decide who is the greatest kunoichi.

The Senran Kagura: Estival Versus – Eve Full of Swimsuits is going to also be released as a separate blu-ray, which is going on sale on April 24th, for 6,480 yen (tax included). If you’re considering importing the limited edition of Estival Versus, you should be aware it comes with a code to download the OVA as well.

Senran Kagura: Estival Versus is coming to both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan on March 26th.

Not digging the artwork and betting it is going to be censored airing with the DVD/Bluray release still not being great. I wouldn’t mind an OVA using the video game’s engine like they did with Ultimate Ninja Storm.

Senran Kagura 2 isn’t the best looking 3DS game but look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n44ce6XdtFM

I like the 2D artwork from the series the most, but an extended version of the first few seconds would be great.

Shame Senran Kagura doesn’t go all the way. ;)

Does SV have a linear and focused story that they can adapt?
Senran Kagura 2 would make for a good anime but I feel like they should give the games a shot in order.

Technically speaking the 3DS games are the linear story and the Vita games are the spinoffs. So yeah if they did make a season 2, it should be based off Deep Crimson.

Surely, they have a decent core story for SV though even if it is a “spinoff” whatever that means. It clearly is more adaptation-worthy than Dekamori/Bon Appetit and it doubled the playable cast.

Since SV apparently takes place in the middle of SK1 and SK2, it seems like a shame not to adapt it.

Maybe theyll make an OVA for Shinovi Versus? You have to remember that they already have 10 charachters to deal with on a tv show, adding ten more will only reduce screen time and turn fans against each other. So its best for them to make an OVA out of it like this one ;)

And which story would an OVA cover? I don’t see anyway out of poorly focused on everyone’s waifu. If the general story doesn’t benefit from some girls, that’s just how it is.

Good point, the problem with Shinovi Versus is that each story is told from the different schools oerspective :(

Its decent, people give it flack for no reason in my opinion. If youd rather play the game though, the 3DS game Senran Kagura Burst, is essentially the same story as season 1 of the anime. But I must warn you if you choose to the anime route, the fan-service is strong with this one…and silly =D
