December Surprise: Resogun for PS3 and Vita

Sony Computer Entertainment have announced that Resogun, their kaleidoscopic firework of a shmup, has been ported to the PS3 and PS Vita by Climax Studios.

To accommodate the title on the older PlayStation systems, Resogun will be locked at 30 frames per second on them, as opposed to the 60 FPS it enjoys on the PS4. This is simply an unavoidable compromise, the Climax Studios team explains. “It’s a great achievement that all of the features present in the original PS4 release are here in the PS Vita and PS3 versions”.

The versions have cross-save functionality, and the PS Vita will allow for ad-hoc co-op, and make use of its touch screen.

If you own the original PlayStation 4 version of the game, the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions are available free. Resogun will be arriving to those platforms on December 17th in Europe, and December 23rd in North America.
