Dark Souls II is Coming to PS4, Xbox One, as Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin

Bandai Namco has announced Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin for both previous generation and current generation platforms—PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The game is touted as the “complete Dark Souls II experience”, and will come with all three of the previous of downloadable content (‘Crown of the Sunken King’, ‘Crown of the Old Iron King’, and ‘Crown of the Ivory King’), some new enemies and NPCs, new in-game events and expanded lore segments, online matchmaking, and re-balanced gameplay.

If you’re looking to get the game on current generation platforms (PS4, XB1) you’ll also get upgraded visuals, and a higher number of players supported via online multiplayer, although a specific number wasn’t mentioned at this time. And PC players will be happy to know that this version supports both DirectX 9 and DirectX 11.


If you already own Dark Souls II, you’ll get the enhanced online matchmaking and the improved gameplay balancing alongside the expanded story content entirely free of charge.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is coming across all aforementioned platforms on April 3rd in Europe, and on April 7th, 2015 in North America.
