It seems like our fears have come true—Square Enix has revealed Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius.

The news is confirmed via the usual Famitsu leaks this week, following the trademark for the name being discovered in both Europe and Japan.

Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius is free to play on smartphones, and it’s coming to Japanese users this winter. Apparently, the development team behind Final Fantasy, and Brave Frontier developer Alim (whose game is pictured above), are both working on the game.

You can expect cameos from previous characters in the Final Fantasy series, and artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. Perhaps with the game being trademarked in Europe, us westerners can expect the game?
