CD Projekt Red’s flagship series, The Witcher, gets its third installment this February. While the Polish company has always been very kind to its fans, recent news comes at a surprise to even me. According to today’s announcement, they will be giving out 16 DLCs for the upcoming RPG, all for free—no strings, no tricks, no pre-ordering requirement—all you have to do is purchase the game at some point, which will then entitle you to the new content.
While it may just be a nice way to combat piracy, it’s still welcome. Knowing there are plans for such a large amount of post-release content, and that legal purchasers of the game will get it all for free, is encouraging.
Four of the planned 16 DLCs have been detailed so far. You can read about them in the image above. It’s a good bit of news to Witcher fans, who may have been soured a bit by the news that the Xbox One is getting exclusive physical memorabilia.
