That Amazing Playstation Optimus Prime is Now Up for Pre-order

Takara Tomy has been revving up an official PlayStation-branded Optimus Prime action figure, and the company has just announced that it’s up for pre-order on Japanese retailer Ebten.

The figurine is designed by Japanese artist Izumojuki, and it will set you back 10,800 yen, or roughly a hundred dollars. The hot new Transformer is set to arrive sometime near the end of next February and it stands at 190 mm tall.

If you pre-order through Ebten, you’ll get a limited edition t-shirt (featured below) which you can see the PlayStation/Transformers crossover art.

You can also view some more shots of the transformer itself, below:

In case you aren’t able to find someone in Japan to export it for you (or you simply don’t live there), you can also import it via Play Asia, although you won’t get that freaking sweet t-shirt.

Looks like it will break if you so much as touch it.

It would be a million times cooler if it was fully functional when it was transformed into the system.

As a Transformers fan, I’ve always had a bit of an interest in these releases, with the Mega Drive Megatron being my favorite of the bunch. The fact that they’re using “Optimus Prime” rather than “Convoy” sets my heart all aflutter.

That said, I’m probably gonna pass on this. $100 is a bit too rich for my blood.

I’m much more interested in the Megatron Mega Drive.
