Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Editions Now on GOG for 50% off

DRM is still a big deal in the PC world, and while Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition came out for Steam, it has never truly been free of 3rd party protection. Whether it was Steamworks or Beamdog’s own “log-in-to-install” requirements, the remakes of these classic BioWare RPGs always had that one mark placed upon them.

That just changed thanks to GOG, who are now selling the enhanced editions on their own service, independent of Beamdog’s site or Steam. This is a bit surprising, given that there were quite a bit of licensing shenanigans involving the game in the past.

That’s not the only bit of good news either. While just the second game *alone* would cost you 24.99 on steam, you can buy both games in one package on GOG for the low price of $22.48. Not bad for those who want the extra content the new versions have but don’t want to pay full price for what is, unfortunately, a notoriously buggy remake.
