Hatred Lets You Play as a Mass-Murderer on a Quest to Just Kill Everyone

Polish developers Destructive Creations have revealed a game that is … well, quite bloody and filled with hatred. Oh, and it’s called Hatred, since there’s just no beating around the bush with this game!

Featured above, you can view the game’s reveal teaser trailer, which shows off a bit of the anti-hero’s backstory (he wants to just kill everyone), and the gameplay itself.

Depending on your stomach and whether you have a job, you might want to wait to watch the trailer until you can safely do so. The game plays out from an isometric shooter perspective, but when you do close up kills, the camera zooms in to highlight the murders.

It’s worth noting the team at Destructive Creations realize how visceral and brutal this game is, and how people might look at it and find it disgusting, they said:

“Just don’t try this at home and don’t take it too seriously, it’s just a game. :) The question you may ask is: why do they do this? These days, when a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment – we wanted to create something against trends.

Something different, something that could give the player a pure, gaming pleasure. Herecomes our game, which takes no prisoners and makes no excuses. We say ‘yes, it is a game about killing people’ and the only reason of the antagonist doing that sick stuff is his deep-rooted hatred. Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder.”

The game is built on Unreal Engine 4, and coming from this, they’re having quite a learning curve to really push their game as much as they can:

“We provoke this question using new Unreal Engine 4, pushing its physics (or rather PhysX) systems to the limits and trying to make the visuals as good as possible. It’s not a simple task, because of the game’s non-linear structure and a lot of characters on the screen. But here at Destructive Creations, we are an experienced team and we know how to handle the challenge!”

Are you guys interested, or disgusted, or desensitized at this point? Hatred is coming to PC sometime in Q2 of next year.
