Pillars of Eternity Wins Gamescom Award

With Gamescom now nothing but a memory, the awards given out by the various European outlets that cover it are getting handed out. One of these news outlets, RPG France, has decided to give their “Best RPG” trophy to Obsidian’s soon-to-be-released CRPG Pillars of Eternity.

Pillars of Eternity, sporting a story penned by industry veteran Chris Avellone, has been one of the most successful of the recent Kickstarter-funded CRPGs that helped fuel this new renaissance of classic roleplaying. Having beaten Double Fine to become the highest funded game on the site, it was only when inXile’s Torment: Tides of Numenara went live that it was knocked from the top spot.
