Twitch announces Smash Week , promotes Smash Community

Compared to the LOL or DOTA crowd, the Smash community is relatively small. This is mainly due to Nintendo not supporting the community until recently and Smash Bros classification as a “party game” by some. Despite the “party moniker”, the competitive community has a very long history. Besides the major events, Smash streamers usually don’t get much spotlight. Twitch has decided to change that by moving well known Smash players and streamers to front page status for streams starting today. Besides well-known players like M2k or Armada,  the average smash player only gets around 100 viewers.

I highly recommend you go check out Smash Bros on Twitch. It is far more competitive of a game and has more depth than the “party game” that it is called. Most streamers will even help noobs get better with tips and advice. I have advanced in skill tremendously due to the advice of Smash Studios though I need to work on my wavedashing and short hopping . If you do get into competitive Smash because of these streams just remember the most important rule of competitive Smash Bros, no Johns.

If you want to know what “no johns” means , watch the Smash Bros Documentary. Trust me , it’s worth it.
