Nintendo of America has revealed some pretty staggering numbers for their 3DS console, and the sheer number of games sold for the platform.
In total, a whopping 40-plus million games have been sold on the Nintendo 3DS in the United States alone. Nintendo shared a list of the top 9 selling games on the 3DS, specifically:
- Mario Kart 7: 3.48 million
- Super Mario 3D Land: 3.09 million
- New Super Mario Bros. 2: 2.28 million
- Pokémon X: 2.10 million
- Pokémon Y: 2.01 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D: 1.39 million
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf: 1.36 million
- Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon: 1.33 million
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds: 1.09 million
Nintendo also confirmed that nine other (undisclosed) 3DS games have sold at least a million copies each, in the United States.
Just how does this compare to global sales? Well, back in March of this year, Nintendo confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Leaf sold over 7.38 million copies worldwide, compared to its USA-only sales.
