• SNK Playmore is Working on the Next King of Fighters Game, Appears to be for Consoles

    Fans of SNK Playmore’s long running King of Fighters series will be overjoyed to hear the news – the company is finally ramping up development on the next game in the series.

    The new game, which doesn’t seem to be yet another pachislot or mobile iteration, is definitely looking to be crafted with consoles in mind – specifically both previous generations and the current generations of home consoles, i.e. Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

    The news (found by NeoGAF) was revealed via the company’s hiring page, which has a curious banner at the top (shown above), which translates to roughly:

    “KOF development is now underway. Change the history of fighting games with your own hands! [SNKPlaymore is] currently looking for new development staff!”

    If you’re wondering where consoles are mentioned, the listings are specifically on the few job postings, ike the CG designer and Technical designer pages, which both ask for experience working on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
