Divinity Original Sin Patch Adds Personality Option & Engine Toolkit

Though it was released rather bug-free and stable, Larian’s steam chart sales-beater Divinity Original Sin has had quite a few patches since its official release three weeks ago. The latest patch, numbered at 1.0.72, does more than just fix bugs or improve stability. As the first of a new batch of content and deepening of the game’s mechanics, this patch adds a new “personality” option during character creation.

This new option allows the player to dictate, during character creation, what their two main character’s personalities will be and then have those party members respond automatically to all dialog with their own choices based on what they are set with. This new option is meant to pave the way for more quests, recruit-able NPCs and dialog options that will supposedly be introduced in a much larger content patch due sometime in October.

As an added bonus to the patch, Larian has now added the development engine toolkit to the game and opened the accompanying Steam Workshop, allowing creative Divinity fans to make their own DLC for the already content-rich CRPG.

…So now you can download a Cow Simulator for your super-serious roleplaying adventures. We’ve come full circle, folks!
