StudioMDHR is working on a very special run and gun platformer named Cuphead. Featured above, you can get a quick look at just how wacky and inspired of classic cartoons the game is.

In an interview with Kill Screen Daily, the creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer revealed that the game is not only 40% percent complete, but it’s also being planned as a trilogy.

The game has been worked on solely by the two brothers, and the art has been created entirely by hand, with the code and game mechanics coming afterwards – leading to the longer development times for the game itself. They plan to have expansion packs that add more weapons and elements into the game.

Cuphead is set for a release sometime in 2015 for both Xbox One and Steam.
