Giant Squid is a newly formed studio by the art director of Thatgamecompany’s Journey, who is getting help from a burgeoning new publisher, 505 Games. They revealed their first game, Abzu, during Sony’s E3 press conference tonight.

Featured above, you can get a sense of what the game is all about – ethereal, dreamy, and relaxing ocean-scapes that you can explore. The game draws inspiration from “a deep, innate story that we all carry in our collective subconscious, a universal origin myth that resonates across cultures.”

The name of the game itself is from ancient Mesopotamian mythology, a combination of the two root words Ab, for ocean, and Zu, for knowledge.

A release date was not confirmed for Abzu.
