Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms Hits Steam’s Early Access

If you’re one of those brave folks who don’t mind being a free alpha tester on Steam’s Early Access, you’ll be interested to know that the sequel to 2004’s obscure European Cult RPG Heretic Kingdoms is now available on Valve’s service.

Better yet, it’s on sale for 10% off of its 29.99 price and can be grabbed for 26.99, though according to its Steam store page the default price of the final game will be 30% higher and early adopters are enjoying a lower price than what will eventually be offered on launch day. A nice show of respect for those who are willing to pay to be testers.

We reported about this game not too long ago, and for those curious about the title, there’s a sale going on at GOG’s website which puts the original game at a very agreeable 2.99 USD. It’s a quirky, somewhat clumsy but very atmospheric ARPG, with a typical “Dark European” feel.

Early reviews and feed back seem to indicate this sequel is rather enjoyable (and playable) in its current state, so those with some free time and 27 bucks may want to take the leap.
