NicheCast – Episode 01

So you’re a regular visitor at Niche Gamer? The obscure games, the niche games, the weird games, whatever you want to call them, we love them and we know that you love them as well. We only cover these games on our regular feed, and we only cover them on our podcast as well.

Now, you’ll (hopefully) be happy to know that the very first episode of our podcast, the Niche Gamer-cast, is now available. You can download it here (right click and save as), or listen to it below:

Niche Gamer-cast Episode 01

The topic of the week for this week is the big news that Microsoft is releasing a Kinect-less Xbox One, and we go over the implications of this decision, and what it could mean for both the staff here at Niche Gamer and for our fans out there.

The songs featured in this episode are both by Mitch Murder, the first of which being Heading South (nite sprite remix), and the second being his version of the Green Hill Zone Theme from Sonic the Hedgehog – both of which you can download for free off his Soundcloud profile.

We’re looking to publish our podcasts on Sunday, and I apologize in advance for the fact that our audio dropped out for a second around the 10:20 mark or so. Also, for some reason there was an echo for a few minutes after that as we switch audio feeds, but we promise these issues will be remedied before our next podcast.

Please let us know what you guys think of our first podcast, and what you would like in the future episodes.

(also, if you listen to the podcast you’ll find out why Phalanx is featured at the top of this post)

We’re going live, folks! Some audio glitches but hey, can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs.

I need to stop rambling though. Have to apologize for that.

You were fine. I just worry that I sounded terrible, for some reason my mic sounded really bad – I have to configure it right for next time. There was also that echo… we’ll get it better next time we promise!

Yes, the echo was there because I had my speakers up too loud and the mic was picking them up. I eventually turned them down after realizing what was probably happening, and then the echo stopped.
