That New Ace Attorney Game is Set in the Meiji Era of Japan

Remember that new Ace Attorney game that was shown off at a previous Nintendo Direct that we got practically no information about? It appears we’ve finally gotten some new information via this week’s Famitsu, however it’s still not much to go off of.

The sixth entry in the series is titled Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Ryuunosuke Naruhodou no Bouken, and it’s still coming to the 3DS. If you translate the game loosely into English, it would sound something like Big Ace Attorney: Ryuunosuke Wright’s Adventure. You’re probably wondering why there’s a different name in that title?

This is because the new Phoenix Wright game is actually not starring Phoenix Wright (or Ryuuchi Naruhodou in Japanese), but an ancestor of his from the Meiji (restoration) era of Japan. His ancestor, Ryuunosuke Naruhodou, will instead be taking the helm and attempting to solve the case.

Shintaro Kojima is producing the game with series creator Shu Takumi returning as the director. A release date was not announced, but we’ll keep you guys posted in case scans come out.
