Phones with Flappy Bird Still Installed are Selling for Thousands of Dollars

Flappy Bird has come and gone, almost as if it were a passing storm of mediocrity and hate from both the media and fans. The game’s creator, Dong Nguyen, got completely sick and tired of all the hate and mainstream attention he had received due to the game, so he took it off iOS and Google Play.

Naturally, this would lead one to think that the game would quickly die off and be forgotten about – but that doesn’t seem to be the case. People are actually selling iPhones and other devices on Ebay for exorbitant prices, some even going into tens of thousands of dollars.

You know what’s even crazier? They’ve actually been selling to people – meaning the postmortem demand for Flappy Bird is so great, people will pay a premium to get a device with the app still installed on it.

At some point, this whole debacle will be a memory and yet the game’s creator will easily have enough money to launch a new game of his choosing, or even just live comfortably for a good while.
