Hatsune Miku Could be Coming to Playstation 4

Sega was showing off Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd at the Taipei Game Show, naturally Famitsu saw this as an opportunity to badger the project manager Hiroshi Utsumi with some questions. Interestingly enough, it seems the series might be coming to Playstation 4 sooner than you think.

Famitsu asked Utsumi if Sega would use something similar to the scratch slider that fans can use with the arcade version of Hatsune Miku, only with the Playstation 3 version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd. His response was definitely a tease at something, he said “We have no plans to implement that, but the Playstation 4’s Dualshock 4 touch pad looks very interesting.”

Coming off his tease, Famitsu pressed Utsumi further, asking him if there were any plans for a Playstation 4 version of the game.

“For now, whether or not we make a sequel is reliant on the sales of Project Diva F 2nd. We are making some preparations, and with those we are including the Playstation 4 in our forecast. Supporting that platform depends on the differences between Playstation Vita, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 as well. We need to factor this in with the decision to port the game or not, or possibly even making the next game for Playstation 4. When development for Project Diva F 2nd winds down, we’ll seriously consider it then. I saw the Playstation 4 at the Taipei Game Show, even though it’s not sold in Japan yet. (laughs) I think it’s a wonderful piece of hardware, and it has motivated me.”

Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd is set for a Japanese release on Playstation 3 and Vita on March 6th.
