Coming from our previous expectations, Sony has confirmed that they sold a ton of Playstation 4 consoles last year. Sony has sold roughly over 4.2 million Playstation 4 consoles last year, as of December 28th to be exact.

Sony also shared some more details regarding their software sales – over 9.7 million pieces of individual software have been sold, and that’s including digital store sales as well. To put that into perspective, that means every Playstation 4 owner bought at least two games with their console – a pretty solid number.

The top selling games included Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Fifa 14, and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Playstation Plus subscriptions also increased by 90% percent since the American launch of the Playstation 4 on November 15th.
